Do you remember the best Christmas present you ever received?
One year my husband surprised me with a Nativity Scene for our front yard. He actually wrapped up Baby Jesus and put Him under the tree while storing the other twelve characters in his mother’s garage! As friends helped me set up the Nativity Scene this year, I was reminded of the GREATEST gift we all have been given—JESUS! Maybe this has been a tough year for you, as it has been for me. But, that is exactly why Jesus came to earth. Whether we’re walking through a valley or high upon a mountaintop, we all need Jesus.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners….to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve.
Isaiah 61:1-2
So, let’s unwrap the greatest gift we have been given—Jesus! He alone can bring us comfort, peace and hope. Merry Christmas!
